Title: Utopia
Utopia (2021) – Technique: acrylic / canvas / stretcher bar
My painting is created in the spirit of See the Big Picture. Open borders and a peaceful coexistence, in other words one world belonging to all.The title suggests that this utopia is as far from our reach as ever and will stay so if power, money and greed rule the world.
I was born in 1954 in the city of Bruck an der Mur, I lived for some time in Schladming and Graz until finally settling in in Leoben in 1976.
I have worked for over 40 years in graphic design and the creation of greeting cards, Christmas cards, Etiquettes for bottles, invitations, company logos, visiting cards, advertising leaflets and also in the creation, maintenance and support of and websites.
In 2017 I began to work more intensely in painting, my focus was not just on the object being painted, I specialised in abstract forms painting mostly in acrylic.
I enjoy painting in very strong colour and prefer to experiment and paint powerful images, the interaction of the chosen combinations and various forms has a special note.
My creativity develops during the painting and mirrors the interaction between colour, light and shape.
Being inquisitive and having a positive attitude are my driving forces, I am an autodidact and go my own way finding my expressions and in developing my compositions, during my paintings I have a constant flow of new ideas change the style on a permanent basis, I never really know what I will end up with, this is a wonderful process.
Most of my painting have no titles. This is to give the viewer the possibility to make one for him or herself, to invite and encourage phantasy and participation in the piece at hand.
